Hmm, "I barely tolerate heat". Not sure how anyone lived in Bozeman without AC last summer. Even when I drove over to Red Lodge, close to Billings, it was hot as hell camping over there. Eastern MT is rattlesnake country. There is also a massive influx of mosquitos, and other bugs which infest the Eastern part of the state. Those in the know can tell you about that. But to think MT doesn't have 100 degree heat which bakes the entire state in the summer means you haven't lived here to experience it. I liken it to, dam, I wish fall was here, to dam, I wish winter would break already. Experience living in the RV in Eastern MT before you commit to that. Maybe NorthWest of Kalispell is more your type of landscape.

Yes, that 2021 heatwave was a nasty surprise, but it was due to a "heat dome" over the entire Pacific Northwest. Seattle had 100+ temperatures for almost a week, to my recollection. And then it moved eastward, creeping into Idaho and Montana. We had to spend a week at an air conditioned motel in Noxon because our place doesn't have AC--and we were lucky to get a room. We talked with people who had been traveling from North Dakota all the way to Noxon without being able to find a place to stay for a few days.

In the 18 years we've spend summers in the NW, west of the Divide, we've always had a few days of 100+ temperatures, but not for a long period of time. All we can hope for is that heat domes don't become a regular summer weather feature.

Eastern Montana can get horrific heat. I also remember being in college in Bozeman during a heat wave. It was awful. Temperatures were over 100 and I was living in an upstairs apartment with no air conditioning.
