All these recent pictures were taken in Garrapta SP which is one of my favorite local spots for hiking and sight seeing. They were taken from a few different trails. The ones with the calla lilies I don't know the name of. But its at the southern end of Garrapta. The others were taken in Soberanes Canyon where the redwoods grow right next to the coast here: Garrapata State Park

Here is a park map: http://www.parks.ca.gov/pages/579/files/Garrapata.pdf

Very very nice pics! Hope to see some poppies this year, since the last few years have been rather bleak...

Hope to see more of these

Very nice photo jkbatka! It looks like Antelope Valley. Yes, last few years weren't so great there, at least compared to prior years.

However Monterey had an all time poppy explosion last Spring. Here is one shot from May, 2012:

Beautiful photos! These remind me of the late 50s, early 60s, driving through the Altamont Pass. There were miles and miles of poppies in Spring.

Nice photo. I was happy with the couple dozen that popped up in our field last spring.

Aside from nature's signs of spring, we have, of course, been enjoying flowering magnolias, fruitless pear, flowering plum, almond blossoms, acacia, and other garden plants in bloom for the past couple of weeks.
