Maybe this is not the right place to post this but it seems obvious to me (as one who lives in Santa Cruz county) that this sub-forum should, instead of being "Monterey County", be The Monterey Bay Area which would include both Monterey and Santa Cruz counties (and even communities near to both counties that aren't included in any sub-forum). There are so many "relevant" communities in Santa Cruz county and to just have a Monterey County sub-forum is doing a disservice to those who don't know the area. S.C. county is not at all a part of San Jose (where people tend to post questions about Santa Cruz county) despite its proximity to it.

Unfortunately you are preaching to the choir in posting this here. No one on this forum has those kinds of CD super powers to make any such change. In fact when I lobbied to start this forum originally back in 2010 I petitioned for a Central Coast forum which would have included Santa Cruz as as well SLO, etc... But the admins, in their infinite wisdom, decided Mounterey County would be the most logical choice.

You can see my post here: //www.city-data.com/forum/about...-subforum.html

So if you really want to protest, lobby for change, etc... there is an Admin Zone forum where that is best done.

Good luck,

Derek

A delayed response. I'm not on-line that often. I'm butterflyskye but with a different user name. I can't remember the e-mail or password linked to butterflyskye.
So, after reading the admin thread that you provided the link too, i agree with you. A central coast sub-forum really does make the most sense and so i added my 2 cents on that thread.
Nice rain down your way? Not as much up here (S.C. county) as they predicted and the wind not nearly as strong as predicted but more rain and wind on the way for tomorrow so we'll see. The redwoods are happier this evening though. It's been feeling so dry!
And i thought this weather system would bring snow to the Sierra but i think they're just getting rain. Bummer!

You can post a thread with your suggestion in the "Admin Zone" forum, the last forum on the list. It might be a go, because last time, they said they wanted sub-forums to cover smaller areas, so they nixed the "central coast" forum idea, but may go for the "Monterey Bay Area" idea. It's a good one.

I did. I like the idea of a Monterey Bay area sub-forum but i also agree with MtnSurfer.
Either choice (Monterey Bay area or Central Coast) would be a lot more appropriate.
