We spent the morning paddleboarding Elkhorn Slough. The diversity of sealife and birds is amazing there. If your coming to Monterey I highly recommend taking a stop here. The best way to enjoy it is from the water. Rent a kayak or paddleboard.

Don't forget about whats under the water.

I caught this beauty and many more a few years back, its a nice nursery for sharks and rays.

It is a Beautiful area...

My neighbor & his buddy used to catch sharks over in that area. One time they had two 6' sharks in a 12' aluminum boat...Now that's CRAZY.....

I used to really enjoy catching (usually releasing) Striped Bass, on the beach...& Jack Smelt fishing by the canneries...

I don't remember them saying whether or not they were eating them. I know they kept the jaw, teeth & fins. This was back about 1985.

Shark steaks are supposed to be good eating, though.
