They're on Lake Louise... in Alberta.

ETA: There's no snow left here where I live in Ottawa, after last night's rain and 40+ (F) temp.

No, that's not very far north at all, but that is Lake Louise which is at 5,200 feet elevation above sea level and it's in the west on the other side of the country. It's a glacier fed lake in Banff National Park up in the Rocky Mountains. Snow and ice is what always happens in the Rockies at this time of year. The temperature at Lake Louise is well below freezing now.

I was only kidding you about the smoked meat, there is plenty left. There is also enough snow to beat Vegas on that count.

The snow is gone pretty much everywhere south of the Ottawa and St. Lawrence river. Based on snow cover maps, there is still some snow left if you drive north for 30 min, but I imagine that would be a very thin cover not suitable for any winter activities. However Mont-Tremblant appears to have a decent snow cover so you could have some luck there (if you are still contemplating coming soon).

Nah been to Mont Tremblant, nothing to do at night. I want to stay in Montreal, and just go as far north as St Saveur only.

Really? It's not like downtown Montreal of course but I was there (pedestrian village) one weekend this spring during the in-between season which is probably one of the deadest times of the year - after ski season was done and before the warmer spring and summer weather started. And no coloured leaves like the fall.

There were at least a couple of bars that were lively. Not packed to overflowing but decently full. One had a live band playing and lots of people dancing.

I prefer the city still. St Crescent/Catherine, and or Boul St Laurent, just have more options.

If you can't find a decent old school butcher in NY metro, come and get some smoked meat, NJBrazen.

Oh, I have had smoked meat. I go to The Main for my fix. But I cannot just come for that. I need to pack a few things into my trip.

I dont know why the states dont have more smoked meat. It is better than corn beef, or salami. We have other ethnic meats here like bologna, or pancetta.
