Hello,
My husband and I are planning on moving to WV going to WVU. I am an undergrad and my husband just graduated. I have 3 questions.

1. Are there job opportunities for students and recent grads there?

2. We are looking to buy a house with lots of acreage (10 acres minimum). What are some good areas to look that aren't outrageously far from Morgantown?

3. Is WVU worth all the money it takes to attend? I'm not sure if the other schools in WV are better than WVU or not.

Thanks everyone!

Hola,

1. The job market has never been better in the north central area of WV-- Morgantown/ Fairmont/ Clarkesburg

2. Goshen Road is an exit down from Mtown, about 5 miles. There is several developments, but lots of land for sale.

3. I wouldn't be able to say, I attend WV State. But I do know that it is a great school, and has a great tradition and heritage!

In large part, the value of an education depends on what you put into it. The advantage of a large university like WVU (compared to the smaller schools that not too long ago were called State Colleges) is the much wider variety of degrees offered. Not only are you much more likely to find the program that fits your interests best, you'll also be interacting with a larger student body.

As to costs, WVU is competitive with most large state universities, and IMHO is quite reasonable. For really outrageous tuitions, check out Carnegie Mellon, University of Pennsylvania, or some of the selective liberal arts colleges.

Morgantown is a growing, vibrant community and one of the Nation's best job markets. It's a great place to go to school for many reasons, not the least of which is the ready availability of beautiful outdoor venues and an abundance of cultural offerings. If you like athletics, they also compete at the highest level.
