Morgantown Area Growth to Accelerate in 2011 - WBOY-TV - WBOY.com (http://wboy.com/story.cfm?storyid=95215&func=viewstory - broken link)

The amazing thing is growth continued unabated in spite of the fact that construction jobs declined due to winding down of construction of the Longview Power Plant, which involved 2,000 construction workers that had been working there for years. Personally, looking at all the Marcellus workers hanging around these parts, I think activity in that area will push growth even more rapidly than they are predicting.

That's good news CT! I hope that trend continues for years to come.

Actually, I think there are encouraging signs for the economy of the State as a whole too. The Northern Panhandle region got some good news recently as Ormet Aluminum (across the river in Ohio south of Wheeling) has resumed full operations. Things are starting to pick up some steam in the industrial sector. That should bode well for areas like Charleston and Huntington too.

Increased economy but slow...

Big increase in home mortgage rates next year...that will slow things more.
