Doing away with a few of the cabinet departments would be a start...Commerce, Labor...Home Land Security...that would toss about 800 billion in the kitty for starters

Also moving the capitol out of Charleston would be a good start to revive WV. Charleston represents the past when WV was ruled by coal companies who treated it like there private fiefdom. Charleston is a representation of everything that is wrong with WV.

The department of energy should be the first to go. That bureaucracy has not reduced America's dependence on foreign oil by even 1%.
I don't know if I would call them irrational if they don't want their tap water to be flammable. Too bad we didn't have more "irrational wackos" in the Gulf the last year. I guess since only economic terms seem to matter to you, how do you think those coastal towns that depend on fishing and tourism are doing right now?
The wells are located well below the water intake. If they were located above and near it one could understand the concern. All they are doing in this case is irrationally exposing our town to potential multi million dollar damage claims. The strange thing is Mon County stands to benefit mightily from the wells, but the county and the city are two different entities. The matter should be resolved at the county or state levels.
I see some of those benefits have already started to occur Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility: News Releases (http://www.peer.org/news/news_id.php?row_id=1498 - broken link)

Yeah but, they apologized for killing all those plants.
I am all for taking reasonable steps to protect the environment, but if it comes to a choice between the arctic teat mouse and my family's prosperity, the mouse will just have to be the victim of natural selection and survival of the fittest.

You'd fit in quite well in China or India then. I hear those places are wonderful places to live, as long as you're cool with respirators.
^^Exactly. Let's not forget the afternoon soot clouds that used to settle over cities like Pittsburgh. They used to have to light the street lamps during the middle of the day. Also the countless stories of people entering one side of a bridge with white clothes on and leaving the other with black. Oh the good ole days and those irresponsible environmentalists that have never done anything for us. Let's not let breathing get in the way of everyone's prosperity......
