Decent burgers & dogs & good fries, as mentioned. OK prices -- not great but not bad. The one in Jeff. County (Charles Town, I guess it is) has a good vibe, employees seem happy (relatively speaking), we have fun there. Satellite radio Classic Rewind lets the good times roll.

So it's good stuff, just have modest expectations. i.e., "Wait for 5 Guys Almost Over" is waaaaay too breathless.
I probably won't eat there... I'm on a diet. I was merely responding to an earlier post asking about it.

I also didn't see where the burgers were huge. I got a bacon cheeseburger and it was about the size of a double qtr pounder from mcds, so big but not anything special. It was good, but no better then a mcd burger. They try to make you feel like it is better by putting up advertisements of their achievements. I dont think it cost 10 to 12 as previously mentioned maybe with large fry and large drink included, but I think the burger I got with bacon was 4.99 or somethin. I did think the fries were good they have cajun fries and provide vinegar, kind of reminded me of boardwalk fries from oceancity. So if you want an all around good burger this is a good choice, but its far from the best burger.
I went there for dinner tonight out of curiosity about the prices, ordered a Bacon Burger, regular fries and a regular drink and it came to around $12.50
If you get the smaller burger, fries and no drink you can get away with paying around $7.00
I agree that they aren't the best burger in the world, but to put them in the same class as McDonalds, I would find many to disagree (unless the McDonalds around you has better quality meat ) Anyways, I don't think that Motown will shut down without five guys given they have some other awesome local options (such as the Boston Beanery)

We'd be fine with or without 5 Guys. The point is, for those who like it, it is coming here.

Burgers are average, fries are less than. Not sure why anyone would get too excited about it. Then again I recall people being excited about Olive Garden coming to the area so go figure. The food in town must not be that great by comparison if these two chains set the bench mark for quality.

They aren't the benchmark for anything. We have some excellent restaurants in Morgantown. But, we also have a much younger than average population so their desires certainly would be taken into account. I am not likely to patronize a 5 Guys very often, but there are many who would. If you happen to be among them, the wait is almost over.

Actually America loves Olive Garden.

I think it is mediocre, but wherever you go you will find people who think it is the height of fine dining. It seems to be a suburban thing. Seriously go to olive garden during busy hours and they are packed almost anywhere.

I am personally a, "support local" business type of person.

I love Five Guys' burgers. They are really good for fast food standards. As for quality places to get a burger, it wouldn't be my first choice. I'd have to go with CJ Maggies, which is local.

Maybe, but I find most real restaurants have much better burgers. I know pubs that have better burgers than 5 guys.

On TripAdvisor.com, Olive Garden is ranked 37th out of 54 restaurants in Morgantown. I've seen it ranked in many other cities comparably. So people can't like it all that much.

And yet, like what you said, practically every Olive Garden I've ever seen is packed! People even wait in line for an hour to get in! What the heck?!?

Full props to their marketing folks, I guess.
