One affiliated with a major league program and located in Morgantown, and another with an independent minor league and located in Bridgeport. Ollie thinks that is good for NCWV, and good for the sport of baseball too. The area will be able to support both of them with the changing demographics, and the dual use Morgantown baseball facility.
The Morgantown situation reminds me of Penn State... which built a new baseball stadium a few years ago... and attracted a Single-A baseball team a few years ago (State College Spikes). Will the Morgantown team play in the New York - Penn League?
Haha no it'd be the Jersey Shore of Morgantown Guidos!
In all honesty, I like the Morgantown Mountain Lions. It's a little generic, but the animal was once native to WV, the stadium will sit up on Target Mountain, and the Mountain Line buses could have a nice tie-in sponsor-wise.
I've given this a lot of thought and don't think the market is big enough yet...
Our friends go oftren to little Washington for the games.
It's a nice cozy drive with several good eating places on the way...
I know that Charles Point is in trouble...mainly because of faulty marketing and the Obamoconomy...
Getting a ball park in Charles Point is way to early in the development game...
I think I would rather go to a new ballpark in Morgantown...that way I could see the WvU kids do their stuff and the Minors too...and resturant row is on the hill. Much more convenient.
I also think a larger sports minded market lies in the Monongalia-Fayette region.
Maybe, but a Clarksburg team would draw all the way down past Sutton. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
