The traffic circle concept is fairly common in the Northeast, but it is rare in West Virginia. One is to be constructed starting next month in Morgantown.

I wouldnt call them common, but they are catching on.

A tip: They are great once people learn how to use them, but when they first come up be careful.

The Fairmont connector has had one for a few years now...

Out here in the West they're commonplace... Waiting for traffic lights is soooooo 20th century. lol

But you'd think a majority of people in WV would prefer the old way of sitting at the light instead of a roundabout... Isn't that the WV way...??? Anti-Progressivism??

Yes, why cant WV be more like Arizona, which is shining beacon of progressivism?

In Washington, PA, PennDOT is designing a diverging diamond interchange at the junction of I-70 and US 19 (Murtland Avenue). Now, THAT'S progressive.

Get a load of what that junction is going to look like:

It's definitely a slick, innovative design that will improve traffic flow over the existing cloverleaf junction, but driving on the left is going to confuse many drivers the first time.
