Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any wooded communities in North Central WV, around 1/2 hour from Clarksburg? I've seen a few such as Paradise Lake in Morgantown or Woodlyn Acres in Jane Lew. I want to live in a community with about 1 acre lots with lots of trees and dirt roads. Prefer to be south of Morgantown. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm. Maybe Kennedy could help here? If you go East of Morgantown and are willing to live in the mountain climes, you could probably find an acre someplace near the several thousand acres of Coopers Rock State Forest and the WVU Research Forest.

Yes there's nice places out by Tera Alta but that is too far. I appreciate any other suggestions.

Coopers Rock isn't nearly as far as Tera Alta. It's maybe 10 miles east of downtown. Reedsville and Kingwood are in the same direction as Tera Alta, but closer to Morgantown.

Finding trees and wooded lots shouldn't be a problem anywhere in WV. Dirt roads might be, because in rain or snow they become impassable. Nowadays, even the most rural of roads are at least tarred and chipped.

Thanks. I was hoping for more a vacation resort type place. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Id recommend Canaan Valley. It is not a community, but an area. It is about an hour and a half south of Morgantown. It has 2 ski resorts, lots of parks, and the amazing dolly sods area. It is also close to Seneca rocks, which are really cool. Great vacation area, and pretty inexpensive.
