Mon General plans to construct three new buildings on their campus near WV 705, in part to make physicians visits more efficient for patients who now need 45 minutes to navigate traffic that used to be a 15 minute drive.

If you've noticed, some of the new office facilities on that side of town have been filling with Mon General doctors. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of those folks moving operations to these new buildings, once available. At first, I was critical of Mon General's new entrance road, but now I see how it fits into their long term plan of building a larger campus. They really are growing and positioning themselves as the hospital of choice for townies.

Any word on how many floors these buildings will have? I ask because I looked, on google maps, at the piece of land proposed for the project and it appears that it would be a very tight fit for the 3 buildings and their parking lots from the picture in the news article. I'm wondering if the buildings will have to be 4 or 5 floors for example to achieve the 130,000 square foot number stated in the article.

I don't know about number of stories. They just announced this, and the only thing I've seen is this article. If I were to guess (and that's all it would be), I would think they would make them three or four stories high in keeping with other structures near their campus like the orthopedic building. Really, $30 million is not a lot of money to be spending for three buildings so I doubt they will be higher than that.

One thing though is that this adds to the already impressive amount of new construction that has and will be taking place in Evansdale and Suncrest. Those complexes along with NIOSH, the Ruby complex, the new Art Museum and others make for an impressive area.
