Heard there is a hotdog stand called Mountaineer Hots opening at the new development on Beechurst. Local owners apparently. They will serve a special type of hotdog from New York. Anyone know if its open yet and if its any good? I don't eat them regularly but I do occasionally crave a good hotdog.

It's not open yet and I'm not sure when they will be ready. I'll definitely try them out when they do open.

Thanks. I found a facebook page that indicated they were supposed to be open in September. Not sure what the delay is related to but could have something to do with the building they are in. Seemed like everything has slowed down around it. For the last couple of months it appears the only thing there showing signs of life is some type of office that had a bunch of tv monitors. Is that the travel agency or some type of security office?

Thanks, Jason! If you hadn't already planned, you should offer, if only as a special, a WV Dog. Sauce, slaw, mustard, and chopped onions. Delicious.

Elewis is 100% correct. Hopefully you plan to offer the WV dog. It is a WV tradition.

Interesting to hear from the owner. Good to have you aboard. Never had a NY redhot before so hopefully it lives up to the billing.

Drove by Mountaineer hits today and absolutely no work has occured since the original post nearly 5-6 weeks ago. Maybe if Jason reads this he can give us an update. In my opinion something odd is going on here and there is no way they will open any time soon as per the owners comments.
