At the behest of the WVU Athletic Dept., it would appear that wine and cheese will be made available along with the beer and hotdogs at Mountaineer football games starting this Fall. They were nice enough to include all Division 1 programs in the eligibility criteria for the bill, even though nobody else had approached them about that possibility. One wonders how long it will be before Me too U jumps on board with such offerings?

WV MetroNews – The wine and cheese (Mountaineer) crowd?

Hey CT.. are you worried that we'll become bubble headed space cadets like the Wine and Cheese Crowd at UVA, or do you now think that this is the best thing since sliced bread because WVU is doing it?

That's a good one. I'm not worried about that. I know that we have people with real sensibilities here in West Virginia. They know there's an appropriate time for wine, and one for beer. At UVA they'll be arguing about which inferior French wine is better when it's 90 degrees outside.

This thread has nothing to do with Virginia. It has to do with wine and cheese at WVU football games. Try to stick to the topic.

According to a poster on Senator Beach's page, it seems the bill passed unanimously and awaits the Governor's signature. It looks as though we'll be getting wine and cheese at the games.
