I'm going to be moving to Morgantown later this year and need to change my cell phone carrier. I'd like to stay prepaid if possible with 4G coverage. Currently I have MetroPCS, which is great, but I barely get service in Morgantown. Does anyone have a specific carrier they would recommend?

I'm hearing that in Morgantown TMobile provides good service for prepaid.

T-Mobile uses AT&T's network. In terms of area network coverage, US Cellular or AT&T are probably the best coverage.

I would recommend switching to an AT&T prepaid MNVO carrier. I first used Virgin Mobile (runs on Sprint's network) when I moved here and the service was average at best. Calls not going through, very slow data (even for 3G) and there are some areas outside of town where there was no service at all.

I switched to Airvoice Wireless back in Nov (runs off AT&T's network) and the service is much better, both talk and data, and cheaper than Virgin Mobile (and the other big carrier Prepaid Plans). There are a bunch of different AT&T MNVO's with very similar plans you could look at: Airvoice Wireless, H2O Wireless, Black Wireless ($30/$40/$50/$60 month for Unlimited Talk & Text & 500 MB/1GB/2GB/Unlimited data). There's also AiO Wireless, a subsidiary of AT&T, which is slightly more expensive than those other three.

I believe the cheapest Tmobile plan is $50/month unless you want the unlimited text/data plan that comes with only 100 minutes.

I can't comment on 4G coverage since the phone I used on Virgin Mobile & phone I currently use are both 3G models.
