Word on the street is that the property across Rt 19 from the Morgantown Mall Rd entrance is going to be developed into Sheetz and nearby hotel. However, I can't find any info or press release to back this... hopefully some of you who are more savvy with your internet research can dig something up on this.

Well, all I can say is it hasn't been that long ago folks from another city in our state were on the forum lamenting the need for more of them in their town. I guess it is all a matter of perspective, but to put things in perspective there aren't any Sheetz locations in Westover, and any place with an Interstate Exit would have to be considered a prime location for one.

Look at it this way... if you were an investor, and the people who own Sheetz are investors, you would want to saturate a town that has every projection of continuing to grow and prosper with as much of your business as possible if you are aware of that fact. I don't know anyone at Sheetz, but I have a strong suspicion their current locations in our region are exceeding their expectations so they want to keep the ball rolling. From a business point of view, it makes perfect sense.

Okay, you don't think Westover needs a Sheetz. I don't care one way or the other, but you and I don't make the decision. The folks who have invested in Sheetz do that, and they are going to try to bolster their bottom line. It makes sense to them, and that will determine their actions... not our particular opinions. Westover will gladly take their tax money.

LOL ... I believe the Sheetz grocery store in Sunnyside is about as close as they will get to there.
