I just found out the hard way. I was hired to drive for Uber in the Morgantown area. After spending weeks getting back ground checks servicing my vehicle and buying a compatible phone to run their app. Then spending 2 days trying to get riders I found out no one could book one. Now finding out the state is keeping me from working is even more upsetting. I have a disability and this job opportunity was ideal for me.
No Uber in Nevada either! They operated for less than one week here and the powerful mob-like tax unions gave Uber one swift kick! And not one murder of a Uber driver, which really surprised me!
I used Uber in November while in Las Vegas. They were great. Less than five minutes wait time and car was always clean. Cheaper than a taxi as well.
I looked at Uber last week while in Raleigh, NC and it looked like there were several close our hotel. The next morning when I needed one, there was no service available. It was weird to me.
I will read the article posted but I do not understand not allowing Uber.
HB 4228 will give Uber in WV another go. Its set for a 3rd reading tomorrow which would ultimately go to a vote before it possibly crosses over to the Senate. We'll see what happens.
should pass the senate and Tomblin wouldnt veto it, so it looks like Uber and Lyft will be a go! assuming it passes will it become effective immediately?
34-0 vote in the Senate. It heads to Tomblin for a signature, which he'll do. Welcome to WV, Uber (finally)! You, too, Lyft (technically).
