Hi, I currently have a job offer in Morgantown and am curious to the weather. I read that Morgantown on average only has 155 days of Sunshine.....is that accurate? The reason I ask is we are currently in NH (originally from VA) and the weather here is so damn depressing from from Nov to April. Constant overcast, grey clouds here can wear down the happiest person on the planet. Data research says NH (my area) has 196 days of sunshine and I call BS because we've been here for 8 years and I can tell you that is NOT true, it's way less. Plus getting a foot of snow on April 1 doesn't help either.

Anyway, if I could get an honest opinion I'd really appreciate it.

Thank You.

The temperature is obviously going to be warmer, but Morgantown weather can be a struggle, especially in the winter.

It is also very unpredictable. Very often you'll see forecasts flip on a dime. We will get stretches of sunshine for 5-6 days straight, or stretches of rain/storms for two weeks straight.

I will say the winters are not as harsh as they used to be. We had a big two foot snowstorm in January this winter, but that was really about it. Temperatures were unseasonably warm in December and April was decently warm as well.

We had three days with highs in the 30s in March, and one day (very unseasonable) in April.

All things considered, I'm sure it'll be an improvement over NH.

I guess that I would sum it up this way - I never heard of anyone moving to Morgantown for the weather. Regardless Morgantown is a fairly nice place to live. There's lots of growth here and in the surrounding areas, low crime rates and lots to do. You may have to look harder for entertainment and maybe rein in your expectations but it will basically be what you make of it. Good Luck.

I will say that there aren't many days where the skies are completely blue.
