Any way, yes it should be sold out by now, I think it is a mix of multiple things, Missouri is supposed to not be very good and who knows about WVU with all of the injuries and suspensions, not to mention the amount of talent that left for the NFL. Another problem is the side of the stadium that has the majority of the ticket buyers on it is under construction this entire season. They also have raised the ticket prices for season ticket holders to a number that seems to high for some, which leaves tickets for other people. Also some people here have a big problem with Holgerson, I know I have a couple co-workers who refuse to buy tickets until Holgerson is gone. If he has a good season he will most likely be sticking around, but if he has a bad season he is gone.

I really wish WVU was in the SEC or ACC, that way we have more natural rivals and our fan base can easily travel to away games. Big 12 has been good to us and gave us the much needed life vest, but it sure seems like the Big 12 is on its death bed and we make a lot more sense in the ACC or SEC.
I see the last paragraph differently. If we played in the ACC/Big East 2, 80% of the games would be against cupcakes compared with the XII. Also, the ACC does not have anchor programs of the nature of Oklahoma and Texas. Florida State is a notch lower as an athletic program and like every ACC program except for those in Virginia and North Carolina, the ACC program is always the second best program in its respective state. True we would have more natural rivals on the schedule, but I believe the special treatment afforded ND makes the ACC vulnerable to poaching long term.

As to the claim that we should be sold out at this point of the season remember that almost all programs are having trouble selling out these days due to the greatly increased television coverage for Power 5 games. Of the dozen games, at least 10 of those will be on national television.

WVU does not have cheap seats for any games except the Youngstown State game, where they are offering a family package, but even with that attending costs $25 (a concessions voucher is also included) per person. Mid major programs have $100 season tickets, and so do some of the Power 5 programs that have a lot of trouble drawing fans to games like Pitt and Purdue, but the cheap seats in Morgantown cost a minimum of $345 per season ticket. Nearly all seats require a substantial donation in addition to that. There is an adjustment period involved too, since box seats did rise substantially in price this year to $1,300 per seat, but there are terrific amenities involved there... personal wait staff, comfortable seating, big screen televisions, and heat if the temps go below 55 degrees. When the construction is done and folks see what is available, those seats will sell out and corporations will scraf up most of those seats. That said, if this team wins some games most games will sell out. Contrary to what Colt is saying, it matters not one bit whether they sell out now or on game day. The school is still on track to have an $80 million athletic budget this year. That does not involve a subsidy from state government except for the $100,000 afforded the rifle team.

In most cases, relative demand for tickets is based on 2 factors... who is on the schedule, and the team's most recent success. That is a fluid situation, but you can get an idea as to the current demand by comparing ticket prices on this site. You might be surprised...
https://www.ticketcity.com/college-football.html

From that site we see that the cheapest tickets available to see WVU - Missouri are $44, while one can get tickets to see Texas A&M vs. UCLA for only $40. You can see some of the games at Pitt for as low as $5.

Default Football Weekend in Morgantown and Olympic Medal Recognition

Football weekends are always exciting, busy times in Morgantown. Yesterday was special in that at the game against Missouri, 4 Olympians with connections to WVU were recognized in front of the 60,125 people in attendance at the game. 3 of those are current students at The University, including 2 members of the women's soccer team who were awarded Bronze Medals playing for the Canadian Soccer Team and Ginny Thrasher, who won a Gold Medal in the shooting competition. Morgantown is blessed to have 3 Olympic medal winners currently living here.

Play a musical instrument and planning to attend college? You might want to think about coming to Morgantown and aspiring to be one of the 350 members of this first rate college marching band, which recently won first place for pre game entrance videos in the College Marching Band magazine competition.

I would think you would want to post that on an Ohio board. It is out of place here and off topic. This is not about Ohio.

Youre usin this board like its a Travel Agency/Recruitment Tool for Morgantown/WVU....C-D is not solely about "Hey look at us, You should come live here!", it's about facts, and differing opinions about certain places...You posted that WVU has a great Marching band and that prospective students should come here, I posted that theres an even better one 3 hours away from Morgantown......

Well, I'm posting facts. If that sounds like travel agency material to you, maybe it is because the facts lend themselves toward promoting a positive image of our town and that doesn't fit with your worldview? In any event, (1) it is not about Ohio, and (2) one would think you would respond with your own facts or opinions about the topic at hand... not trying to shift to a different one. Nobody doubts that Ohio State also has a first rate marching band, but talking about that doesn't fit here. There is an Ohio forum on this site for that purpose.

What ever happened to the idea that attending a University should have the goal of becoming a well educated adult , and to prepare the students for a future professional career ?

I would like to hear about the high academic standards and the outstanding scientific research that this University is known for ? Or is the marching band the most important part of the school's reputation ? After the football team, of course.
