And pull some scholarships. After the last two games I'm not sure about how solid they are but hopefully the next game will be better.

I'm in utter disbelieve , offense can't play knowing the defense can't hold anyone, the flood gates have opened

I dont know what people expected.

They were 2 big loses, but they were 2 good teams, and the Big 12 is much more difficult than the teams WVU used to face in the Big East and ACC. Switching to a better conference is never easy. Now that we are in a power conference WVU football should improve and it can be a leader in the conference, but it has to build up to that point.

As a student of WVU, I am glad that we joined a more powerful conference. However, we should have joined one where teams are closer, such as ACC, Big 10, or the SEC. It would make more sense because if you look at the map, WVU is the only Big 12 member that is far away on the other side of the country.

WVU should have never left the Big East. No big bowl games for the near future. If you cant hang with the big dogs stay off the porch..Go Cards!!

The Big East is probably a year or two away from becoming a basketball only conference. WVU would never make the BCS Championship game playing the likes of Temple and USF.

I think the first two wins in the Big 12 got our expectations way too high. Given that DH has really only had one recruiting class, a 0.500 record in the conference the first year is probably realistic.

It will probably take a couple of years to get the recruits needed to shore up the defense. In the meantime, all that TV and Bowl money will look mighty good.

ACC is not a better conference. We would have been in the same situation as the Big East. PAC members travel as far as WVU does.

If WVU stayed in the Big East there would have been no big bowl games ever again. It was a collasping conference and teams like Lville are never going anywhere while they are stuck in it.

WVU did beat some good Big 12 members and lost to some. It is an adjustment period and it is normal for teams that go to better conferences. If Lville ever gets out you will see.

Exactly.

Mountaineers used to mainly play Big East, and to a lesser extent ACC schools and schools in even worse conferences. Big 12 is considered a power conference and is almost as goof as the SEC. I was optimistic Mountaineers would do well too, but I know the team enough to expect a few hard loses. Any long time Mountaineer fan knows WVU is a solid team that can beat much better teams and play well, but they also know the Mountaineers can fall apart. As a long time Mountaineer fan ive never seen this undefeated unstoppable Mountaineer football team that fans expect every year. WVU has 2 loses to 2 tough teams. With the same team they had 2 loses last year to 2 bad teams; Syracuse, and Lville. WVU still has a tough schedule and needs to face Oklahoma.

The real issue is not that WVU isnt good enough for the Big 12, it is, but our defense isnt good enough. We just switched last year and WVU has not had the time to build up a defense that is required in the Big 12 and SEC.

It wasn't the loses that surprised me but how badly they were beaten. But you're right, it's a different world they're playing in and will have to adjust to it. Now I do hope that Geno learns to keep his cool when things are going into the tank.
