According to people who live there, they have until the end of the year to relocate. The property was bought by WVU Hospitals for a parking garage.

A shame for those who live there, but much needed parking space! A huge win for WVU!

Sad for those living there, but finally that eye sore will be gone! Will be a good location for a parking garage, but I shutter to think how much that property sold for.

Also a huge win for our area. That trailer park located in that space was embarrassing. Move the trailers to the trailer park off Hartman Run Road, or to the one on top of the hill out Van Voorhis and it is a win-win.

Ethic cleansing eh aka getting out the low income types to make the area more shiny (dull)? Way to go WVU. I think the University has a million other more important issues to resolve than a few trailers.

First it is WVU Medicine, not WVU itself. WVU Medicine is flush with cash and growing by leaps and bounds. It is extremely smart on their part to buy as much land touching their current holdings as possible because the price is only going to go up with time the more they grow.

Second, you obviously don't know how badly WVU Medicine needs parking, especially parking near the main hospital.

Not sure how you're coming up with that. WVU Medicine is rapidly expanding and they definitely need the parking spots, and that is an excellent location for them. That said, the trailer park was not in keeping with the other architectural assets in the area and it is good to see it go. I'm sure the owners are smiling all the way to the bank too. Those folks can move their trailers to St. Clair's Village or Greenbag and it is a win-win. Bluegrass actually has a swimming pool for their tenants, I believe.
