There's lots to do around here. Add in attractions in nearby PA and MD as well as several not mentioned here, and you'll find reasons to visit and stick around for awhile.

We have the best and biggest venues in our state in Morgantown too, numerous venues, that bring the biggest crowds here regularly. Puskar Stadium, The Coliseum, the Morgantown Event Center, The Creative Arts Center, Davis Theater, the Metropolitan Theater, and local clubs that regularly feature live entertainment of various sorts most nights of the week, and every night of the week part of the year provide lots of opportunities to see college athletics at the highest level, Broadway Plays, Symphony Concerts, Live Event Concerts, and the new WVU Art Gallery offers viewings, displays and educational offerings open to one and all. The new WVU Planetarium offers informative views of the Universe free of charge to the public. And, it just keeps getting better. The soon to be build Aquatic Center and water park at Mylan Park will be a state of the art facility that features Olympic quality swimming and diving facilities, the only such facility in West Virginia and something usually found only in very large cities, and a water playground for one and all outside the Center itself that will be open to all comers.

The Adventure WV Department of West Virginia University offers challenging and fun activities, not just for students, but also for residents, visitors, and the whole family. Expert guides and instructors make learning and participating both safe and fun to do in some of the state's most spectacular surroundings. including the tens of thousands of wilderness acres involving The University Research Forest, Coopers Rock State Forest, and the Cheat Canyon preserve.

The beautiful West Virginia Botanic Garden offers both a wonderful hiking trail through botanic wonders, and educational programs in addition to internship opportunities for WVU students. It is something to be enjoyed by one and all.

The Core Arboretum also has a rudimentary hiking trail that connects to the Mon River Trail, and provides opportunities to see growths of unusual trees and vegetation. It is free and open to the public.

Charming Arthurdale in nearby Preston County was build by Roosevelt's New Deal, and has historic buildings and homes as well as a museum that is open to the public.

The West Virginia Zoo, operated by the Hovatter Family, has many wildlife creatures that come from exotic places including giraffes that children can feed by hand. It is also located in nearby Preston County minutes from Morgantown.

Thanks for this thread.

My GF, her 2 kids, and I will be daytripping to MoTown tomorrow, so they can see the City and she can determine whether it is someplace she'd like to move to

We are not outdoorsy people, so I was trying to come up with a few things to do in addition to looking at apartments and schools. Maybe we'll go to the Zoo.
