Can anyone confirm what is going on on the east side of I79 north of the Uffington bridge? Heard a rumor that it was a new exit for I79. Seams hard to believe and unnecessary. Not sure what the purpose of it would be. I assumed it was being cleared for a housing development but I’m hearing otherwise

It is supposed to be a new exit to serve the industrial park. If they are going to do the new exit it's needs extended to downtown for another entrance into the city and be four lanes. Supposedly from rumors, some companies are interested in locating businesses in the industrial park. It hasn't been approved yet that I know of.

That’s a surprise. The industrial park is a bit of a dump. I guess if it does extend to the industrial park it’s only a short drive to down town. shorter than going through Westover or Scott avenue.

From Tom Bloom.
Bloom News: I am continually asked "What is the development that we can see when driving down from Ramada Inn? (or across the river from Ashton Estates)"
The County Commissioners went to the site to visit two weeks ago and we are very excited to review the progress. They are taking down a hillside and making 40 acres of flat land for a NEW Factory that will be opening their doors next year in our County. We are looking forward to this project and several other factories/distribution centers in the near future.
This is one of the reasons for the need of the new Harmony Grove Exit and why it will be so important for the future of our County........
We are very proud of the working relationship with MAP and Russ Rogerson....The Future is Bright in Monongalia County.....

Bloom has blown so much smoke up peoples butts it’s hard to believe anything he says. One of the all time leaders in false promises. Although this one seems feasible. I’d believe more of a distribution center than a factory of any type. But something should leak soon.
I’ll never complain about anything that improves the area infrastructure. But I’m not sure a Harmony Grove exit should be quite as high priority as some of the towns more congested arteries.

This one may be true, as the company has already put 100 million into it?

If they put $100 Million into it....then who is it? This whole cryptic messaging thing gets old. Believe me, I know about CDAs and such but why not announce it? If they back out, they back out. Guess time will tell. Maybe its the long announced Macy's!
