i would see places listed for $500 only to find out it's per person and btw there's 4 other random people in your house. what happened to just a normal listing specs/rent/location/requirements?

Of course there are regular rentals. Are you checking the dominion post and craig's list?

There is an "older person" section at Chestnut Ridge.

i've gotten my apartments in the past by word of mouth, and the others that i've been interested in have had signs up on the street. do you live in the area?

There's a nice house halfway up grand street, but it's renting for over $1000/mo. I'd suggest driving around neighborhoods you'd be willing to live in.

If I worked in Morgantown, I would live outside of the city and commute. I think housing is kind of high there and the rentals tend to cater to the students. Even if you don't live in a student complex, a student complex will be close by.

I would suggest the Fairmont area, but the areas closest I-79. You can still be in Morgantown fairly quickly and the housing/rental market is more reasonable.

I like the Mt. Morris, PA area too. It's a little closer to Morgantown but it's in another state. It's also hard to find rentals there though. I'm not sure if you would consider PA, but many come in from PA to work in Morgantown.

Pt. Marion, PA is a little town about 10 minutes from Morgantown. It's inexpensive too but it's a little drab looking. They tend to have more rentals out that way though.
