Use of public transit is on the upswing in Morgantown... a good thing since the State has dropped the ball at keeping up with highway construction needs for the growing community. Mountain Line Bus Co. had 1,167,284 rides during the 12 month period 7/08 to 6/09. Added to the more than
2.25 million riders of the Morgantown PRT system that means that public transit in Morgantown had nearly 3.5 million rides during that period, easily the highest number of public transit rides of any city in the State.
Many of the rides were from students at WVU, who pay a fee of $63 per semester for unlimited rides on both the PRT and Mountain Line busses during the school year.

Fortunately Manchin is in his last term, and maybe the next Governor will recognize the dire need for highway improvements in the Morgantown area and act on the State's responsibility to do so on state numbered highways.
Considering the amount of money literally pissed away in some of the pork projects elsewhere where no growth is taking place, it is almost criminal, the amount of neglect being shown.
The State should be doing everything it can to encourage continued development in those areas that show the most promise. In that manner, the whole State would benefit in time. Morgantown's road system needs a lot of attention now.
The difference is Justice is actually capable and is a person capable of building working partnerships.
I agree with you about the Uniontown to Mt. Morris Road and development.
A working coalition should be formed with Fairmont to develop the area between Morgantown and that city too. There is so much potential in the region right not it is amazing.
