We are buying a home that is currently USDA eligible and I say eligible because March 27th USDA is updating and our property has a chance of no longer qualifying. We are 3 weeks from our closing date but our loan officer still hasn't set our file to usda. Doesn't it take upwards of a month or more within usda? We were really hoping to close on the written date but worry how long we will linger in usda being 3 weeks out.
Should take a month. Your Loan Officer should be informing you of the process. It might be that you have already obtained your Case Number, which would Grandfather you into that territory. But your L.O. should be all over this file.
I figured it would be a process. As a 1st time home buyer we are lost at the process and she has been fairly good about keeping in contact (replying and answering our calls). She seems fairly confident everything looks good and on time so maybe she has a contact within the states usda office? Or like posted above a case number has been issued. I knew the close date wasn't set in stone but as it gets closer it bums us to think it will be pushed out maybe more then once. Our credit is in the 700's, decentratios 24/37... Hopefully that helps in the slightest.
