Question on appraisals before a refi?

It would be a good idea to see what homes with similar square footage and lot sizes sold for in the last 6 month. A lender or real estate agent can get that information for you, don't use the internet. Hopefully you didn't overbuild for your neighborhood.

Hey Willow I did have to go to the assessors office because I had to pay the tax. Also, my land taxes went way up and it shows a estimated value improvement.

Lopez- Both my neighbors have done home improvements in the past month. One repainted his house, and the other rebuilt about 500 square ft and added a wrap around porch and deck.

Should I let the appraiser know this? Does it matter? Those homes probably have not been revalued as of yet.

It only matter for what has sold. So your neighbors don't help your case.

Neither of those homes have sold in over 25 years I believe. So neither will help I assume.
