I have my retirement and personal stock portfolio at Charles Schwab. Since they affiliated with Quicken Loans, would this have any bearing on qualifying for a home mortgage? Thanks!

Default Short answer? Nope.

Longer answer -- a really really really remote possibility. In a technical sense there are a tiny number of "very high net worth" clients that firms will make a decision to provide with "special consideration" to retain their good business.

These days you need upwards of $5M in invested assets to be considered "very high net worth".

Somehow I doubt anyone with that kind of coin is gonna deal with a phone based lender like Quicken...

Personally, I've looked at mortgage rates 3 times spread out over about a decade. At all times, quicken loans was vastly higher than all other potential lenders.

I suggest looking elsewhwere. Personally I used nmaloans.com though I don't know if they're still the cheapest. They were great to work with though and the lowest rate by far a year ago when I purchased.
