Looking up some properties on my townships website regarding taxes
I noticed a "bank code" most owners have a code of 660 or 165 or some other 3 digit code
Then there are some with a zero, I'm assuming this means that property does not have a mortgage??

Ask your local assessor what the codes mean. We have no codes like that on our assessment rolls, so my guess would be no better than yours.

I’m fairly certain some local gov’t tax sites will have an id code for the different lenders.
001 = Wells
002 = BoA
003 = etc, etc

So you are probably right about the 0.
Those things change though, so I wouldn’t ‘bank’ on it being accurate.

There should be a key somewhere.

Default it's code for

It seems on most tax sites that use such an id system, they reserve 666 for Ocwen. I don't know why.
