how long does a va loan take? my buyer is disabled vet. he sent "in process" form to prove he has applied. he wants to move in and rent from me til va loan is a done deal. how can I help this to hurry along. I need the $...renting my home wont help me but I don't want to lose this buyer,also I want him to have a home so he can function with his severe disability. help

Typically 45 days minimum is the timeline most lenders will quote for VA loan. You may find a few that will get it done quicker, but I do not know how they do it. Chances are if you dump this buyer and wait for the next one it probably won't be any faster. The best thing you and the buyer can do is make sure you comply with all contractual obligations and timelines, get the paperwork in promptly and prevent any delays.

I would ask your agent to call his loan officer - its possible you could easily get the warm and fuzzy you seek. Or the hint not to let him move in.

20-30 days, this is the slowest time of the year.

If he goes through a big name bank then you are looking at 30-90
