Is it normal to wait for GFE more then week? (loan, pre-approved)

I got pre-approved by two lenders last week.

When I asked them about GFE they said they will do it MAYBE next week.

Why ? Why they can not do it now? Is this normal?

Not really normal. If your pre-approval involved credit pulls and income doc review, they could have sent you something same-day. I prefer to send an Itemization of Fees also, because it's a better document, with greater clarity. Even if it's a TBD-Address pre-approval, they should be able to send you what you requested.

Did you do a full blown loan application? Many places don't issue a gfe on a pre approval, as the lack of the subject address is a missing piece of vital information as to the definition of a loan application. We only issue GFEs when we have Name, Subject Address, SS#, sales price, loan amount and income. I am only guessing this is what it is. I do issue closing cost worksheets on a routine basis.
