Email your CU loan officer this, "my agent (or father, mother, brother, or whoever, doesn't matter) is giving me a lot of grief that this cannot be done and that I am risking my earnest money deposit. Can you please confirm for me one more time (maybe so i can forward to him to shut him up) that I will still be able to close without transcripts for my amended returns?" Get it writing. Telephone conversations mean squat. This is the least offense wording that I can think of that still gets you written confirmation without ticking her off.

I work for a credit union. I never would make such a statement unless I had management backing me, so I'm pretty sure you're fine. We are also 100% portfolio with very deep pockets, so I know the money is out there. I know I don't dare put it in writing without prior consent, but do you know how many people my boss talks about, with all the loan officers......45 days down the road.......there's hell to pay. You are not asking for a loan commitment, just confirmation to join her on a limb. This is for your protection. I write these specific assurances all the time to put people at ease.

I didn't get it per email, but I did text her after getting assurance on the phone and she text me back this "Breathe. I checked and as long as we are keeping this in house we won't have an issue. We will just be pre pared with a letter of explanation to cover our bases". Is that credible enough do you think?

As long as you have both sides of the text messages. If it's crystal clear you are discussing transcripts for an amended return that won't be required prior to closing. If you think in 40 days, it could be forgotten, send the email with an "OMG, I am so tired of my family butting in! Can you confirm.......". Deflect, deflect, put it on a member of the family and tuck it away. It sounds like you are fine, but any doubt, absolutely, clarify. You're the one making the mortgage payment, the one with a family to house. This is not worth losing sleep over if it can be fixed with an easy email.
