My elderly mother has a mortgage through Quicken Loans and they recently tried to withdraw funds from a savings account that they were never given account information on ( she doesn’t use the account and eventually closed it a year ago ). We don’t know how they got the account information and, when questioned about how they obtained the account information, they had no answer. She requested to talk to a supervisor but the person said that he was a specialist of some sort and would not transfer her to a supervisor. She had already set up automatic payments through a checking account and had just received a reimbursement check for overpayment so we don’t know why they even attempted to charge another account. Has anyone had anything like this happen?
I've never heard of such a thing. How did you and/or your mother find out about this? Was she notified by the bank that there was a request made on her closed account? The whole thing sounds extremely fishy. What number did she call for Quicken - the one on her mortgage statement? If it were me, I wouldn't allow them to disconnect without transferring me to a supervisor or giving me an alternate number to call.
