Been following the news about the Big Freeze in TX, and how the rash of burst pipes is going to create a mold problem. We're trying to move to TX in a few months, and I'm wondering how the real estate market is going to handle that.

It's too cold right now for mold plus mold forms when water is allowed to stand or continues to flow. First thing you do with busted pipes is strip the wet stuff and let it dry out.

It will not be a problem at all unless a home is neglected and not repaired in the next month or so.

You will have an Inspection done right?

Well, houses with unrepaired water damage (including obvious mold) will sell for less; those that did not experience water damage or have had it repaired, will sell for more.

I'm safe and just put my house on the market today. Only damage I had was a small leak outside and it's scheduled to be repaired Monday - it's on the disclosure. Otherwise I'm good to go and have already had several showings and another one is happening in a bit, and an offer is supposedly coming in already, so we'll see!
