I received a taped message from a company in California that claimed if I spent $69 to buy a list of MORtGAGE FREE homes, the US Treasury will pay me $400-800 per house. The object is to contact the owners and advise them they have a refund of some sort coming. I can work full time or part time from home. All they want from me is my name and address - but they didn't want to tell me how THEY are. I hung up.
My immediate question is if THEY have the list, why can't they do their own work from home? My next thought is ID theft scam.
At the least I am quite sure this is a very questionable investment.
