Is it any easier to get a mortgage through USDA than any other type of mortgage, credit wise? As I have said in the past I have good scores, but thin credit (only two CC accounts, one is a little over a year old). That's it, unfortunately.

Also, is there any way to expedite getting enough credit for a mortgage, such as what kinds of accounts I should look for. I've been thinking about getting a new cell phone and was wondering if I should get a contract, because then I could use that as an alternative tradeline after a year or two.

You have the right goal, how you are going to get there is going to take time.

My suggestion is learning the five parts of credit and how it effects your score.

Goggle the site " creditinfocenter " You can find information on how to build your score.
