I used to own ride a 1981 CX500 Custom. I sold it to a friend who kept bugging me to sell it even thou I did not want to sell it. I never did get all my money from him and he seized the engine even thou it was only 5 years old with 5000 miles.
This one has sat 5 years in a barn, 40K miles on tap, Brandy did file a non-op so there is no back fees involve in registering it. He pulled the caliper for some reason he does not remember. The seat is covered with some odd white denim cover but has the original shape. One busted turn lens. Overall not in bad shape for 32 yrs. I have a list of a new seat, front brake system, lens, possible battery to replace. Faded paint so I think rat rod black for now. These bikes are bullet proof thou. Plenty of parts bikes available near me even thou people have a inflated idea on worth.
Oh, wow! I used to have a '79 CX500 Deluxe! A friend sold it to me and it was in pristine condition. My friend missed that bike so much he begged to buy it back from me! So kind soul that I was, I did sell it back to him. It was a really cool bike. Loved the shaft drive.
