I'm just trying to figure out how the clutch would really make it that much more difficult to slow down. I mean, sure, the engines going to stall or you have to kill switch every time you stop, but other than that? I've had a clutch cable break once. Pain in the butt riding home ~50 miles with no clutch. No biggie out on the open road but sucked the last few miles once I got into town.

there is a bit of difference between a planned trip with a known bad clutch, than being in stop and go traffic and suddenly find your clutch didn't disengage when you had a car stop in front of you.

Sort of, I guess. I wouldn't ride with a known bad clutch, not really because it's a safety risk but because it god damn annoying riding without a clutch. As long as you can avoid stopping, it's not even that annoying. You're putting way more wear than you'd want to on a regularly basis downshifting without the clutch, but how many people even use the clutch for upshift? I do maybe 20-30% 1-2 shifts, but passed 2nd I never use the clutch except to downshift anyway.

Theyve made the same bikes for 80 years, how do they have a recall?

Perfect example of why you don't buy a bike/auto with first year technology. Wait til the second year when all the kinks are worked out.

I was just going to post the same thing here, except my description of their product was not as kind. Kind of like this video.
