Car drivers have to come to assume it's all about them. They get their panties wadded over everything from bicycles fo lanesplitting. Truly a violent, idiot culture. They are generally not smart enough to understand all the stuff they wish they could do but cant in their car, they can do if they get a bicycle or motorcycle. But no, they will continue to whine because the cant lanesplit in an suv of f-350. *DeRp*
We just hand out driver licenses to these imbeciles as well. FFS......
they start lane splitting in my area, Im going start kicking my door open at lights. you can wait just like everybody else, youre not special
Look at the big picture. Each motorcycle that filters through means one less vehicle waiting in traffic. The end result is significantly less congestion. It is truly a win win if people see it this way. It is a far more efficient use of our current road infrastructure. The US is one of the only countries that doesn't allow it. It is really something we need to consider as populations grow and traffic worsens.
Motorcyclists can be as ignorant of those around them as drivers in cars. Yes the car should have been paying more attention but the riders were traveling way too fast for the conditions.
Yes, just because some are ignorant riders does not mean all should be condemned but it's morons like this that cause people to not support lane splitting.
I remember my first time driving in LA I wasn't even aware it was legal but I learned quick! It's not hard to move out of the way when a bike approaches you. The fear should be that most are texting and not paying attention. I wouldn't consider riding a motorcycle on a freeway unless it were a loud Harley to make my presence known.

Loud Piper myth. Loud pipes can only be heard when you are behind them. Common sense and experience saves lives, not loud pipes.
Lane splitting riding with no helmet. Do something good, be an organ donor. Probably 95% of people have no idea what lane splitting is, not even thinking a motorcycle can come riding up through all the stopped traffic. I've been riding 40+ years, and wouldnt even consider doing it. You're putting too much trust in others. On a bike, Always assume no one sees you, because most of the time they dont!
