How is an Indian any better than an ugly, faux vintage overpriced HD or Victory?
Took the initiative to correct your post, you're welcome
Actually try riding one or more of them (I've ridden all 3 brands) and you'll understand. Indian can legitimately claim their styling and heritage, but the bikes are all new inside and it really shows. I rode the Scout and the Roadmaster at Sturgis and was astounded at the quality and performance of the bikes. Victory wasn't up to the standard and HD...wellllll, HD didn't have the confidence to offer test rides out on the open road where the riders can discover their shortcomings. Have fun on the "rolling road". What a joke!
I won't be riding any of them anytime soon. Maybe when I'm a greybeard and want to ride slow to Alaska..Tho' that sounds like a perfect ride for a BMW.
I'm not especially interested in slow bikes, and would pass on both the Victory and the Harley and go right for the bad boy in town. Triumph Rocket III. 2300cc.
Now that's what I'm talking about. Go big or go home. For me, I prefer a sport touring bike. But I do love Triumphs.
Victory bikes are better built then Harley. They look better too. If you want to ride with very little trouble, Victory is the way to go. Victory! Ride One, You'll Own One.

I'm not an Indian owner...so I'm not defending them out of some sense of owner loyalty. But I'm in the industry and deal with them and their owners.
After Polaris bought Indian, they proceeded to engineer a much better bike than H-D. (And I do like SOME Harley models, before you think I'm bashing them).
"faux vintage"? I don't know about that. Founded in 1901 (2 years before H-D), they produced an iconic look, and today's Indians have a retro look. Then again, the new Scout model isn't retro (look at their 1949 Scout to see), and according to my friends who are magazine editors, it's a really fun bike to ride with great power and pretty decent handling.
If I had to choose a NEW bike right now from among the 3, I'd take the Indian Scout or the Victory Gunner. I checked out the 2015 Harley models at the IMS shows, and they just didn't excite me much.
