A 1980 Kawasaki 440 Standard just like this. I drove it for a couple years when I was young. IIRC I paid $1100 for it new. It would be fun to have it back.
My first bike was as a 12yo a Rupp Roadster. But my first real bike was a Yamaha 360 twin. Went from there to a Yamaha 750 tripple then to a Yamaha 700 4 maxim x to a Harley sportster to a Harley Dyna I drive now.
My first motorcycle was a 2014 Bintelli Havoc 150cc. Does this count? According to the state of Minnesota it is considered a motorcycle because it was more than 50cc. If you're someone that doesn't count scooters as motorcycles than my first real motorcycle would be....
I bought a used 1959 Triumph Cub in about 1962.
The first of many I had over the years.
Mine was just like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rWMdTnMuaA
I loved the smaller bikes over the years and really liked the Honda 305 Scrambler and 450 that I had.
I no longer ride due to medical problems.
And yes, I miss them.
A 1983 Suzuki GS650 Katana much like this one, actually it is that one :
Those are pretty rare, I had the same GS750E the other guy did, but mine was silver. Also an '83. Couple guys asked me at the time (1988-9), "is that a Katana?" Nope. One is collectible these days, the other is not...
First bike was a 1982 Kawi GpZ550. Nice enough, and forgettable. I learned how to ride fairly well on it. The Suzuki was second. An FJ1100, third. And so on.
Did not know until 1993 I had no idea what I was doing, that was my first track day: on a Ducati 851. Tens more followed, with three years of roadracing, next fifteen or so years.
These days, decades-on, I do Adventure bikes and on/offroad tours, but that wasn't the thread's question (grin).
Honda trail 50
A neighbor gave me a old Honda 125
Graduated to a Kawasaki 250 dirt bike
Then I bought a GSXR 750
Finally a Kawasaki 1100
Both the GSXR and the Ninja were huge in the late 80s early 90s. The Kawi was stolen twice. Back then a screwdriver shoved through the key switch pretty much turned the bike on. The wheel locks were a joke. I finally wrecked it and after I got married I went to dirt bikes. Today I wouldn't ride where I live. Way too many idiots
The only pic I have of any of my bikes
