My first bike was a 1967 Suzuki X6 Hustler. It was a 250cc 2-stroke twin with a 6-speed transmission and oil injection (no premixing), both state of the art for the time. I rode it all over several states, from Texas to Indiana. I wish I still had it; they're worth about 6 times what they cost new (not adjusted for inflation)! It was a great little bike. Walt Fulton III won the Daytona 250cc race on one that year, in front of all those Yamaha 250s.

Although not mine that was the 1st real bike I rode on a regular basis...yeah a great machine...I bet I put nearly as many miles on it as the owner ( college buddy) did.
The 1st bike I actually bought, in full was a Yamaha 1976 XS500c. 500cc twin, dual over head cam, 4 valve per cylinder, cast alloy wheels discs all around, in chocolate brown of all things. Whats more I still have it, it runs great..... I take care of my toys.... I ride it in good weather...and boy does it get looks and thumbs up from folks who recognize a 60's/70's style bike.
PS...I don't care if a new bread machine at half the displacement would eat it for breakfast...it's still one of my fun toys.
Ninja zx-14 My fiance bought it for me. Now I am also choosing my first Harley. I don't know which one to buy!
If I had my druthers, I would seriously consider the Street Glide for touring or the Soft Tail Deuce for cruising.
