I need to oil/lube my chain on my Ninja. Any recommendations for oil/lube?

Thanks, Josh

This stuff I have used for years on o-ring chains and on non o-ring chains.Really sticks to chain.Doesn't get thrown of the first couple of mile after spraying chain. And 1 can last a long time. You can buy at most metric bike shops. For sure all HD store carry it.

Dupont teflon chain lube. (or multi-purpose lubricant) as the label says.

Get it at Lowes.

You can see a great comparison of about every chain lube at www.webbikeworld.com

Motorcycle Consumer News did a chain lube "shoot-out" awhile back, IIRC the Kawasaki "house" brand won. Maxima's silver can chain lube did well too. The gold can Maxima is a wax, it's very clean but not so hot as a lube.

I have been meaning to try the Teflon spray, but have not yet.

PJ1 has been around forever, it's obviously at least good or would have been gone long ago.

You probably already know to lube the chain *after* at least a short ride, not before - ideally let the lube "set up" overnight.

A paddock stand for your Ninja is a nice thing to have when lubing/adjusting chain.

Once you use the Dupont stuff, everything else is poo. Dries clear, no fling, no residue, no mess putting it on and your chain gets cleaner the more you use it.

I bought some stuff from a small town auto store, I gotta support the little guy =). Any ways I bought some Gunk brand and put it on. I will be letting it sit for at least 12 hours. I left my garage door open a crack for ventilation. Let's hope this stuff works, this is my first time doing this and I'm learning everything on my own.

I ENJOY maintaining my bikes! This middle age gal can change oil and clean and lube chains! My greatest achievement was changing the entire tail light assembly on my dual sport! And it even worked when I was done!

Tri-Flow spray lube. I use it on o ring and standard chains on motorcycles and equipment. Dries on the surface and lubes very well, lasts a long time.
