Oh, joy. There's a Wizard of Oz remake in the works. Like we need that. I can guess most of the comments will be pretty negative here.

Perhaps we can lighten the discussion with likely actors to be cast in the main roles. Any suggestions?

I'll bet it will be in 3D, which seems to be the norm for new "spectacle" pictures. When Dorothy opens the door to Oz, instead of switching to color it can switch to 3D.

I can predict that it will be nothing near as good as the original and I will never see it. I wouldn't want the spirit of that classic, tainted by an expected insult of a remake.

Certain movies cannot be remade. Wizard of Oz is at the TOP of that list. Sorry, I couldn't begin to imagine anyone playing in a remake of this movie.

I agree! No one can replace Judy Garland. It reminds me of the remakes of Miracle on 34th St. or Heidi. No one could replace Natalee Wood or Shirley Temple and they didn't. The remakes didn't even come close to the originals. Some classics just need to be left alone.

This is like digging up.......JFK or something. Such a movie is doomed because anyone willing to do it, willing to act in it, has got to be the most shallow egotistical moron.
