Yes, I am reallllly sure that there is gonna be a sequel. Especially the end where Optimus declared Earth as being a place for other Autobots to protect. Besides, we didn't see my favorite autobots...the dinobots! Rawr! Wow, I am such a geek. lol

I loved it- I plan on seeing it again. Yes the plot was a little cheesy, but the effects made up for it and more.

The movie was great. I took my little brother to see it with me at the AMC Palace 9 downtown. There were a couple of week and corny lines that didn't need to be in it, but the CGI didn't ruin the movie's classic good vs. evil story. And I liked that Bay humanized the robots. It made me care about them. I had a mild heart attack when Jazz got ripped in half (sorry for the spoiler).

Best movie this summer. Be ready for Transformers 2 in 2009/2010!

BTW, if you're looking for more throwback movies about shows from your childhood, G I Joe, the Smurfs, Thundercats, and He-Man are all either works in progress or looking at scripts right now, accoriding to Entertainment Weekly.

The effects were the only amazing thing about it, but the plot really sucked and was for kids...not hard to see what was going to happen in the end and the guy that was in that goverment agency for the knowledge of transformers really did a lousy acting job......why couldnt decepticon catch that kid when he could catch an autobot with ease?....lol....some scenes were retarted like that....but the effects were great.......if you like movies with a great plot then dont see this....wait for the dvd because the effects were the only thing that made me want to continue watching..

My husband and I grew up with transformers (him more than me) but we're so corny that every time the trailer for the movie would come on, one of us would say "more than meets the eye" and the other one would say "robots in disguise", while our kids stared at us like we were out of our minds. He took our oldest (daughter) to see it last sunday and they loved it. I've yet to see it.

Errm...well, it was based on a saturday morning cartoon. Of course the plot was a bit cheesy and for kids. I can't see anyone going to watch Transformers for the plot. Great special effects and and just plain entertaining.
