Not me. I have a hard time with these hollywood guys from Boston doing these "Boston" based movies. Especially one about a lower echelon fighter who was NOT a good fighter, and was really only famous because of his fights with another insanely overrated fighter named Arturo Gatti who was found hanging and dead in his hotel room.
Micky Ward (who the movie is based on) was a totally overrated fighter with sub par skills and was only intersting because he was a white Boston kid. He sucked. Movie sucks. Boston Sucks. Red Sox suck. Celtics Suck. Tom Brady is cool because he's a California kid, but the rest of the Patriots and everything else Boston related sucks just like Mark Whalberg, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Micky Ward, The Fighter and New Edition. Boston Cream pie tastes good though

In other words the movie rules, Boston rules, Red Sox rules. Celtics rule. Tom Brady is a ***** cuz he is from California, but the rest of the Patriots and everthing else Boston related rules just like Mark Whalberg, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Micky Ward, The Fighter and New Edition. And don't eat Boston Cream pie because it has a lot of saturated fat which is not good for you.
Don't understand the weird rant. Apparently he was 3 x New England golden gloves champion and what does someone hanging themselves have to do with anything?
I don't know who Tom Brady is nor do I care. I really don't care about Mickey Ward other than a (true life) character in the movie. Sheesh.
Personally I love stories with a sense of place, they are a favorite whether its books or movies.
Christian Bale is getting lot of buzz for his performance though Wahlberg got a nomination.
I think I will go see it. I have a hunger to watch a movie that doesn't just appeal to my inner teenager which most movies do now. Something more adult will be a nice change.
Christian Bale = Best supporting actor Oscar. You heard it here first! From the first second he appears, he steals every single scene. You can't take your eyes off his performance.
I'm not a huge fan of Marky Mark as an actor unless his shirt is off, and if it was off plenty.
