Just curious for all those who watched Jaws if it affected your thinking about going to the beach or not. I admit to this day if i'm on the beach swimming i still think of those Jaws scenes.....

Here's the 1975 original trailer when it first came out.....

Interesting thread. It did affect me to a degree. At the time I lived in southern California and was in my 20's. I lived not far from the ocean and went to the beach often and swam. The one thing I really remember was this huge desire for people to kill sharks for awhile. It was sad really. People would go out to try to catch a big shark and kill it and then the picture would be splashed all over the paper. That only compounded the fear as people looked at a picture of a great white shark or hammerhead and think, holy sh*&, that was caught off the coast here! It made me a little paranoid, much more aware and cautions at the time.

Nope, I spent a lot of my holidays as my Grand-Parents summer home on the Brittany coast and used to swim with ( small) sharks. I think they're amazing creatures, very much maligned.

It didn't at the time the movie came out. I loved that movie, btw.
But after spending a couple summers on the Gulf, and seeing small sharks, and having a friend of my son's be bitten on the foot, I do think about it when I am swimming in either the Gulf or the Atlantic.
I am not too freaked out about humungous Great Whites stalking me.
But bull sharks *can* be rather aggressive--and can be found in fresh water.
I do still swim in the Atlantic, though.

No because I live in England. Not much in the way of sharks around these parts (although saying that a Great White was seen off Cornwall a few weeks ago!).

Default You Bet !!!!!

Jaws had me looking all over the place for him and to this day my shower ritual includes looking out from the curtain to see if Anthony Perkins is standing there( Psycho).... the shower scene.. I do this daily.
