John Barry had a good little piece of music to work with! Rachmaninoff's "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini." (I actually don't have sound on my computer right now , but I know which theme you mean). So "Somewhere in Time" is the 3rd generation of the theme, so to speak. And I could definitely add a "favorite scene" from that movie:
The moment where Christopher Reeve finds a modern coin in his pocket, and is whisked back to the present, while Jane Seymour is screaming "Richaaaaard!"
My favorite is the first kiss...no music, the creaking of the floor boards...in the theater
you could also hear each person's heart drop on the floor and roll to the front.
Will Munny and The Schofield Kid are waiting for their reward money; last few lines---
Munny- "It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. You take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have."
Schofield Kid- "Yea, well I guess they had it coming."
Munny- "We all have it coming, kid."
So, you're not behalf of forgiveness, right?
