“Manhunter” is so much a better movie than any in the Hopkins/Lecter group, despite the cheesy 80s music.
Yes it is. Red Dragon followed the book a little more, but Manhunter really captured the mood. It was more focused on the profiler and how being able to get into the psyche of serial killers wears on him.
The Jerk - when Steve Martin is dancing around in joy when the new phone book is out
Forrest Gump - after he beats up Jenny's boyfriend at the Black Panther party and they are all standing around with pistols and Forrest says: "I'm sorry for getting in a fight at your Black panther party" in his classic Forrest accent. Kills me every time.
The opening battle of The Gladiator - The build up to it - the music used was great and created such suspense and of course, the battle itself.
Saving Private Ryan - of course the Omaha Beach landing was incredibly done, but a scene that I always liked is in the church I guess on the first night when they start looking for Ryan, when most of the soldiers are asleep and CPT Miller (Hanks) and Tom Sizemore are talking about the soldier who peed on the jacket and they were laughing about it. I just loved the relationship they had with each other and how this exhibited the experiences they had with each other in the war. Having been in the Army, I understand that relationship and trust between an officer and his NCO.
